        In addition to the station's licensed channel, 462.675 may
    be used for emergency and traveler's aid by all stations.
    Interstitial channels (462.xxx5) may be used only in simplex
    mode with voice transmissions of no more than 5 watts. They are
    shared with the Family Radio Service.

Repeaters may be used on these channels. A max power output of 50 watts ERP is permitted on GMRS frequencies. GMRS require a valid FCC license. 

 

Businesses may use GMRS frequencies ONLY if it is a family business with only family members.

 

GMRS frequencies are NOT FRS frequencies. Some radios claim to have 22 channels available for FRS use. This is not true! There are only 14 channels allocated for FRS unlicensed use. The GMRS frequencies require a valid FCC license to use. FRS may be used freely for commercial business use.
